ABOUT ME David Raymond is a Chicago-based actor and writer. A nomad with a penchant for masochism and road trips, David has spent the past five years bounding back and forth between the Windy City and San Francisco. He graduated from Stanford University in 2014 with a B.A. in Theatre and Performance Studies, a minor in Creative Writing, and an extensive background in film studies and screenwriting. Professionally, he has performed at the San Francisco Playhouse, Stanford Repertory Theater, Steep Theatre Company, Redtwist Theatre, Theatre Seven of Chicago, Custom Made Theatre Company, and Brightside Theatre. His work has been recognized at the Joseph Jefferson Awards (Winner – Best Ensemble – Posh), the SF Bay Area Theatre Critics’ Circle Awards (Winner – Best Actor – This Is Our Youth), and the Theatre Bay Area Awards (Winner – Best Ensemble – Moby Dick: Rehearsed). He is also the 2013 recipient of the Evelyn M. Draper Prize for excellence in performance (Stanford University). As a writer he has produced plays, screenplays and short stories. Most recently his raunchy, backwards two-hander Christmas Sex: A Romance in Reverse enjoyed a staged-reading at the Shelton Theater in San Francisco. This summer he is attending the School at Steppenwolf, an actors' training residency.
